Äggskär is an island in the outer archipelago of Porvoo, Finland. We arrived there quite late in the evening in very calm waters. The bay can be tricky in heavy winds with lots of rocks and a swell coming in. During the night a thick fog set in and we were in no hurry to leave the next morning. We had good time to exlpore the island.
Apparently Äggskär is inhabited by a vast colony of spiders. Their nets were everywhere. They looked beautiful in the morning mist.
The shores of the island are mainly granite with vast open areas towards the sea. A very nice place for a walk or picnic. The old pilot house is now used by a local sport fishing club.
