This is the story how the 2016 Not Far From Home video was made.

Packing of the bike and setup was filmed in my backyard. Luckily the fantastic framebag made by Kaisa for my Kona Raijin fit the Unit frame perfectly so I didn't need to order a new bag. The gear went into a basic bike packing setup consisting of a framebag, a seatbag and handlebar roll from http://bikepack.pl/ and accessory pouches along with Salsa Anything cages on the fork.
We decided to use my boat for the opening scene. I spend a lot of time on the water so it was logical to combine this into the film.
We shot the night riding scenes and camping stuff on an island in Sipoo, Finland.
After filming late into the night we got up early to get some all important coffee making shots. After that it was time for some aerial shots and trail riding on the island.
After taking the boat back to the harbour we stuffed all the gear into the car and went to shoot some of my local trails in Sipoo. Some tree climbing was required to get the best angles.
After packing loading up the car once again we set out towards Repovesi National Park. It was dark when we got there. After a good nights sleep it was time to shoot some more trail riding and coffee making of course. We were pretty sure that there was some fresh bear shit on the trail. Notice the gourmet catering we had!
Joonas got some really nice drone shots from above and between the trees. Flying in the forest requires some serious aviation skills. The bike riding was easy.
The final shot was made on top of Olhava - a popular climbing spot in Finland. The weather was really nice and we got a beautiful ending to the film with a fly over of the cliff.
After another full day of filming we packed up and headed home. Good times!
