Winter finally arrived in Southern Finland towards the end of January. We spent the weekend in a cozy hut in Repovesi National Park.
After the hike we started to heat up the hut and prepared tasty food.
Two weeks after the first trip we headed west to Teijo. Now we had bit more snow and the temperature was well below zero.
The area is filled with mires so a big part of the trail goes along narrow duckboards.
We set camp at the Roosinniemi lean to shelter.
The temperature was going to drop somewhere around -15°C for the night so I opted to sleep on the ground and see how my old down bag keeps me warm with a comfort limit rating of -10°C. Slept pretty much warm and toasty for the entire night.
Finally a clear crispy winter day with the sun shining. Best weather for outdoor activities all winter.
