Toni and some other guys on the yksivaihde.net (singlespeed in Finnish) forum came up with this bike tour camping concept. Someone announces the date and place and then people will just come from different directions. This time the destination was Liesjärvi National Park. Toni and Viltsu left already on friday after work, so I had to play catch up and ride solo on saturday. The route from Sipoo to Vihti and Liesjärvi was mainly nice countryside paved and gravel roads.
In the end a total of eight people showed up. Two from Turku and the rest from Helsinki.
After the mandatory sling shot contest it was time enjoy the camp fire and tell stories of bravery and hard times.

Enough said.
We took a group photo before leaving. Three guys named Ville and two Otto’s. The others had their own name.
There was about 1km of pushing from the campsite before a nice trail opened up. The ridge between the lakes is beautiful.
After leaving the National Park area there was a nice 30km gravel section with smooth roads. Then we turned south and enjoyed a nice tailwind. After lunch at Läyliäinen we made good progress towards Helsinki.
